The blaze began on Thursday, Jan. 25 around 11:30 a.m., when a fire started inside an apartment on the second floor of staff housing on the Phelps Hospital campus in Tarrytown.
Soon after the flames broke out, crews from several organizations raced to the scene, including the Sleepy Hollow, Hawthorne, Valhalla, and Millwood Fire Departments.
After arriving at the scene, crews began putting out pockets of fire while also opening ceilings and looking through debris to look for any remaining hot spots.
Luckily, the fire was soon brought under control. No injuries were reported.
